| I just completed a state DOT audit. Thankfully I passed. It was like others have said: you supply the information that they ask for and if you do not have it all, they tell you what they need and give you time to give it to them and then they educate you so that if you are ever audited again or audited by the Feds, then you will know what to do and have all the documentation you need. I had most of my records ready, but had to gather a couple of things he asked for. He was very patient and helpful. A big part of it was his role as an educator. He viewed this entry audit as an important place to educate and make the roadways safer. He ended up sending a number of files after the audit with helpful information.
Many on this site and other forums have asked who needs a CDL and the answers can sometimes be confusing. I found this chart in the info he sent and figured I would pass it on:
