Subject: Re: light bill 50 dollars less

southern MN
We had a coal plant planned for the area - after long battle got pretty much the final go-ahead in the past year.

Investors went away due to cap & trade fears.

So it has now been scrapped.

We in Minnesota will pay for that over the next 50 years. I've said it before on these pages, we are setting ourselves up for a bad crash of energy shortages - it takes along long time to build new plants and infrastructure. Folks won't wake up until we are already short of power.

I don't like to be a sky is falling type of person, and while I have my political leanings I don't see one party really doing any better job at this than any other party here in the USA.

Just all kinda disappointing. It's up to 2 degrees now, so hard to go do anything constructive and not worry about it, or be concerned about global warming. ;)
