Rolla, ND
One thing they do is get married. Just about everyone I know got married in December after soil testing and before the meeting season starts.

The only kind of slow time seems to be the week between Christmas and New Years.

You will be selling applied knowledge. Well the time you stock up your inventory is winter months. You won't go to many free meetings. They generally aren't worth your time unless enough of your customers are there that you go to see them. There aren't a lot of good meetings. Most are multiple days, might take some travel and charge for attendance.

It's also a great time to read that soil physics book that didn't make that much sense the first time. Look at a lot of plot data and such. Talk to input companies about their products especially new ones and so on.

And clients have questions in the winter too. Making plans and such.

It's not like the summer but it's not that there's nothing to do.
