swmn | Put a 20/20 on a new 1760 last year. Love it. Would not plant without it. Jd Pro-Max vs. E-set. I had Pro-Max disc at first and could not get them to plant very well. Poor spacing and singulation. Would get a lot of doubles and skips. Was always playing with vacuum setting adjusting on meters (which on a box planter you have to remove the disc to adjust). Got tired of messing around so about half way through corn I put in a set of E-sets and could not be happier. Excellent spacing and singulation. Just set vacuum and go. My dealer told me that the Pro-Max disc doesn't work well in a box planter. If you have central seed and mini hoppers then they work. Don't ask me why because I don't know, something about the meters are different on mini hopper to a box. You can put them on a test stand and it will show every time. | |
