I suspect that the displayed web address is different than the web address it is linked to. If you are using Chrome, hover over the the link with your mouse (don't click on it). You should see a box pop up in the bottom left of the screen that shows the ACTUAL web address that the link will take you to. I would bet it is a website that has no connection to Agtalk but might have a similar name (for example talk.newagtalk.spammer. com). When you click the link, it takes you to the spoof website with a request to enter your username and password. Once you submit the info, they steal your password and then you get redirected back to the real Agtalk. Now they can log in using your name and post fake items on the classifieds to scam real agtalkers. | |
