north central Kansas | I've got one of the rear 5-drawer fender-well type boxes. It's narrow enough pallets go by it if you're careful. I like that the tools are available at ground level with the tailgate down. It holds a reasonable amount of tools, but not other things like ratchet straps, jumper cables, jacks...things you might put in a large cross-bed type toolbox. I bought a cheaper one from Tractor Supply to test out the concept. It's lasted 3-4 years but it's starting to get pretty flimsy with rough treatment. I've considered a longer one accessible from the top to go in front of the fender for larger things. I think if you had one on each side your bed would start to feel pretty narrow. | |
