The best part is it allows sharp angles to chain down with out the worry of the chain sliding along the rail and then loosening,We either pull a set of chains toward the center or away if no room.If you hook on the rail it will slide when loose or impacted in a side swipe.It is a bit of pain at times to use loops I know.
