East Central Missouri | Most deep cycle batteries I have seen are the same size and will fit in your compartment.
A regular battery will work but will fail quicker. Deep cycle are designed to discharge deeper and then recharge back.
No, it probably doesn't need to be a deep cycle, but the deep cycle is designed for this application. I'd do it right the first time.
So? If I get to help spend your money on a battery, my vote is deep cycle.
