Those older New Hollands will eventually break the tine bars, and they are expensive. The 560 Specialty Crop pickup has so much more steel in it it’s not even funny. I am hoping to try out a completely custom pickup reel in my old BR780A this summer.
I permanently fixed that problem too. Cut the tine bars in half, turnd down both ends of a shaft so it slid inside the tine bars and bolted/welded them in. That replaced the wear portion of the tine bar with solid shaft. Now they won't wear through and break. |
