| We just used a bulkhead for the water line. Valve on one side crimp on pex on the other. Foe the drain just cut a threaded coupler in half and welded it to the plate.
We are a long ways north compared to most on here. It gets cold (-30c) and can stay that way. I would not consider the way we did these freeze proof. More like able to handle -10c if your willing to break the ice. I have larger ones with lids we are going to install for winter use. Our idea is a modified version of pictures lacock posted. These are 12’ tires for groups of 400 cows. I will put some pictures up when we do them this summer. | |
