| Went to the trouble of putting steel bottoms in and ended up pouring cement after ten years or so. Now bring four inch PVC in the center just tall enough for a cap to set on and the valve sits on top of the cap with it connected with heater hose to supply. Grease the cap and can now shut the supply off, drain the tank and can pull the cap off to replace or work on valve. Having the valve a few inches off the bottom seems to help valve problems. Really alkaline water is hard on any metal fittings. | |
