SE IL and SW IN | This is the soil cores that we pulled for our field day.
#1 shows Annual ryegrass roots to 26" on Dec 8, well below the fragipan layer that is at about 16" in this sample.
#2&3 were attempts to show the difference between different practices, but lighting is such that it all looks like low OM soils on a welding table.
We had a nice crowd of brave souls show up, but I will have to rely on other people for field pictures.
