Genoa City, WI | Had a 2003 with the 8.1/allison at my previous job. Gas mileage was embarrassingly horrendous. 9-10 on daily driving, 11 if I was running the interstate, 6-8 if I was pulling NH3 tanks. Was running this truck during the gas price spike, and my boss was having weekly heart attacks over the fuel cost. We bought the truck used from Monsanto with 85,000 miles on it, and I ran it to 120,000 before I left the job. No problems in that time frame at all. Ran like new.
The 2009 Duramax (yes, with all the hinky emission controls) I have now runs 15-16 daily driving, 18 on the interstate. | |
