Callao Missouri | Those prices sound foolish to me. In January 2009 I bought a 4893 hr 1680 with the Cummins for just a little more than 20K, put $10K in it and have run it over 1800 + acres or 367 hrs and have 50 left to go when the weather allows ( 2/3 of which was custom harvesting this fall ). For mid season repairs I have three hydraulic hoses, and a throttle linkage ball. Granted I did all of the rebuild work myself and I get dealer price on aftermarket parts. The machine pushed a 30' JD 930 grain table and an 8 row 1183 Massey corn head, the only thing I would change about it is put field tracker on it. Now the comparable 9760 JD will cost $200K and it does the same thing, the grain goes in the front, and up to the top, the straw still comes out the back. That 200k just don't fit my operation.
