We ran 40' MacDons on 9870s with the chopper that have the power cast tailboards. There is a divider between the two blades that we remove and we can easily spread the 40'. It is very uniform if you remove the dividers. They only have four or five bolts that hold them on, so they aren't any trouble to take off. If you don't take them off it tends to throw everything toward the outside. We no-till everything behind beans, so we need it uniform. Also have wheat straw in with the bean residue where we run stripper heads in wheat and double crop the beans. I think with this setup we could easily spread 45' if need be.
