Subject: RE: Versatile "thrust washers in axle" question

Somerville, Indiana
Pull the final drives and put new thrust washers in. The needle bearings wear against the thrust washers, moreso when operated on a sidehill. It will eventually tend to lockup the planetary gear, noticeable by the end of a shaft turning a burnt color from red. Use a threaded pipe to screw in the drain for a handle. It isn't a hard job, we do it in our shop. email if you need more information.
