East Central Arkansas | You might want to check out www.farmworks.com. They have a good and simple mapping software that can be used in a iPaQ . I would recommend getting at least the scouting version of Site Mate. They can also sell you a iPaq and CF gps that can be used in the iPaq. I do not have the CF gps myself but I started out with a Holux GM 210 that is a wired gps with external antena that can be mounted outside the cab for better reception. With the right cable kits it will plug into the bottom of the ipaq and it has a 12 V power supply cable that plugs into the cig lighter socket. This setup powers the ipaq also. I often find myself wanting to have the CF gps for handheld use but I have a small rechargable 12 v battery that I can carry on my belt to use the Holux as a handheld. You will probably find that as you use gps for mapping that you will want to upgrade to a gps that has more accuracy to use in your tractor. | |
