Windom, MN | My rig is a 1998 Freightliner with a 169 wb, 10 speed, 12.7 L Detroit, and a 2007 41 foot (I believe 66" sides) Wilson trailer. Can have 300 gallons of diesel, but never do. at about half a tank we're 25,000.
Buddy's rig I run on occasion is a 2004 Freightliner Columbia with a 169 WB, 10 speed, ISM cummins, and a 2008 42? foot (I believe 72" sides) Jet aluminum trailer. Holds 140 gallons of diesel and completely full of fuel it weighs about 24,000.
I like my friends because he can legally haul 1000 bushels of corn. I'm a little over 81,000 with 1000 bushels of corn. But it seems like I have to fill with fuel more with his truck. Probably because mine holds twice as much, even though I never fill it. I don't like the traps on his trailer as well, I have the strap openers, and they just seem easier to operate. | |
