If you 660 has a 9 pin serial connector on the back then the 660 is capable of communication to other systems. We connect to Trimble, Ag leader, Jd 2640, pro 600 or 700.
If you already have something on the farm you can probably connect to it.
If you have an Ag Leader display such as an Insight, Integra, InCommand 1200 etc., you can use Ag Leader's Application Rate Module and a special 9 pin serial cable to connect the 660 (provided it as the 9 pin connector as mentioned above) to the Ag Leader display.
Information will be exchanged between the two devices. This allows the Ag Leader to make maps/summaries etc. from the information it receives from the 660. The Ag Leader can read an Rx file and send rates to the 660 at the appropriate time/place for Variable Rate Application. One thing that CAN NOT be done is auto swath or section control. The operator would still need to turn on the booms or sections manually as in the present setup.
Another choice using an Ag Leader display is to remove the 660 completely and use two Ag Leader modules. One module is called the Liquid Product Control Module. It connects to the flow meter, control valve and section valves.
For the other module there are two choices, one is called the Auxiliary Input Module and switchbox OR the SC110 CAN switchbox. Either will have switches and the circuitry to inform the system as to your intentions with the boom sections. Auto Swath is available so the system can turn ON/OFF the sections for you.
The difference between the two approaches is that 1) still uses the 660 but the Ag Leader display and a module works with it. Auto Swath is not possible. 2) replaces the 660 but needs two modules. Auto Swath is possible. You get rate maps, coverage maps, variable rate possibilities, etc. with either.
