But after you deliver it to the elevator, they run it through a pit, up a leg, down a spout, into a conveyor, dump it 80' down to a bin floor, auger it back out of the bin, back up the leg into a overhead, into the truck/train and then it goes to the next elevator which does pretty much the same.
By the time it gets to the end user, that's what it looks like. Every time grain gets handled, more of it turns to fines. One of the many reasons I like storing our own corn on farm and making our feed on farm.
