I put new guts in mine the other day.  This is a new one on me, it doesn't have anything that moves up and down with the water.  It's all in the very top.  Whatever shut it off you can't see it and it's almost full before it contacts anything that would shut the water off.  I had the donut type in it before and it kept sticking down and not filling.
