I watched it when they had like 6 in a row the other night. So many plot lines could evolve from diverse characters. It has the common elements of mixed race couple, LGBT characters, and laugh track style. It rises above most that and has some humorous drama. How the producers lead it could make it a one year wonder or progress for many successful seasons.
