RR Valley, ND; MN native | I don't watch TV anymore and even when I still did, most of the sit-coms were not funny.
My test of a sit-com being funny or not....
If there was no laugh-track or canned laughter, would it still seem funny? My answer is usually NO. Take away the laugh track and its folks hurling insults at one another and itching for a fight. Not funny at all.
If a show needs some canned laughter to clue the audience something is supposed to be funny, its not funny....
