Pretender, are long term customers of "brand X" not allowed to look at other brands, do their research, and conclude, for whatever reason, to choose to stay with their long term brand?
Not saying you are wrong for choosing any brand you choose. But why can't Deere customers stay with what they like, in their personal situation, and in their personal opinion? So what if Claas has higher output? Can't a Deere guy have other reasons for staying with Deere? No need to say those with other opinions have no knowledge of what's out there when you really can't know that....

Right or wrong, my idea is if a long time Deere combine owners tries both machines, they are more likely to lean towards the Deere. Familiarity with the brand will give it a few bonus points, even if the other brand is a better machine.

If they have switched brands a few times and are truly color blind, then I take their views a little more serious.

Familiarity with a brand does make one lean more towards that same brand when trading. When we bought our first self propelled forage harvested, the dealer said we had as hours of demo for free, and a very low cost per hour after that. Brand new machine and I called a couple times to verify I could put extra hours on it. He said it was fine. Later when we were buying it, he said he wanted us familiar with it so that when the other brand brought out their machine, out would seem awkward to operate since we were familiar with their controls.
