Subject: RE: Deere 9 X combine

central mich
I have seen a demo in X9 1000 in wheat. I did not run it but know the people very well that the demo was for.
I think this is the third time at least I have posted part of this story. The X9 was reported as decent good with power compared to Claas 760Tt.. 45 ft head on JD and 40 on 760.
In wheat they said it was decent.
The farm owners back ground recently is this. Former JD combines large STS series two units. Prob 4000 acres of corn at the time. Color blind farmer. Then he tried a Claas 740 and and 760TT. These machines easily outperformed the JD. Then he got upset with parts after they had to drive to Columbus to get parts a few times.
So they traded for two new S790. The S790 lasted exactly one year as they had trouble with clean sample and lack of production.(Way to much going out the back) Also
Claas said they would stock popular parts at the farm.
So back to Claas with one new 760TT they repurchased one their former 760Tt.
This summer the JD X9 was demoed with the 760Tt in same wheat field. And this fall the X9 was demoed in corn with 16 row non chopping head.
But one of the Claas 760TT had been traded in on two new 8700Tt before corn.
They told me the sample was a lot dirty in the X9 in corn than 8700.. (Demoed about 20 miles away) The JD peaked at 6000 bph with dirty sample.
One of the 8700 ran off about 1000 A off near my farm and about
250 A was on ground I own. 250 bu irrigated. We own JD9610. But I have never seen production like the 8700. 5000bu per hr.with clean sample. I drove along side it with my pickup and it was going up slight grade, unloading, 12 row chopping, at 8 miles an hr. Very impressive. 530 bu in the tank. Semis lined up to take it away.
Just spoke with big farmer today and they had 7000 A of corn in and the two 8700 did the corn and 760 did 3000 of soy.
Two minor issues 8700 in the 7000A. They have two 2000bu drier but one got destroyed with wind this summer so they had 800 A left today. It will be awhile before JD gets back on this large farm.
The 8700 were running with CMOS on but manually tweeking
