I have a 2012 northstar and have had one of the snapping rolls splines wear out. Just the male splines on the roller, the female splines in the housing were perfectly fine. Mine stripped completely. Never noticed it being out of time before that. Put a new roll on and good as new.
So your answer is no, they dont get out of time that ive seen.
