NE Iowa | Bought a 430 for a 12 row corn head this year.
Made a couple changes/additions to it. As we only us it for 1 head, I torched holes through the mounts and beam to pin the mounts in place. Then also welded a flat iron on the outside of each mount to keep the header from sliding off the mounts.
Next I ordered 10,000# ratchet straps from J&M header trailers through the local Deere dealer to hold it down.
Yes the tongue gets heavy, but it’s a good trailer for 5000.
We are also thinking of putting a smaller diameter tire on the left side to make it tilt, for hooking to the combine. This is where we run the face plate, it could be adjusted, but it’s where we want it.
