Subject: RE: CO2 pipeline

Sadly the two carbon pipelines in Iowa will likely get the go ahead from the Iowa Utilities Board. The Summit Carbon Solutions project is an example of what happens in a state when powerful businessmen are allowed to buy the levers of government. Summit's CEO is the one of the largest donors to Iowa GOP candidates, including the current governor and the immediate past governor. The members of the Iowa Utilities Board, who will make the final decision on the pipelines, where all appointed by the current or immediate past governor. The immediate past governor, Terry Branstad, is on Summit's payroll now as a lobbyist. Also on the Summit payroll is the former chief of staff for both the current and immediate past governor. Summit will 100% use eminent domain to secure the pathway for their project, thumbing their nose at private property rights. So much for the party that protects individual freedom.
