Portland Ford shop says vin number does not tell them anything. How do I find out the hp on this truck. Vin 3FRWF65NX4V684829 It may be printed/stamped on the motor, but the ECM could have been upgraded to get more Hp out of the C7. As someone suggested, hook to PC and read what's all in it. " Can you turn up a C7 Cat engine? Once in CAT ET the ECM can be “flashed” or reprogrammed to power up or down within a given CAT Engine Family. You can only repower a Caterpillar engine within its given family. For example a Caterpillar C7 has Families A, B, C, D, E and F. The Horsepower Rating ranges from 207 hp to 330 hp."
