| You guys with multi strand hi-tensile either have cheap, garbage energizers or do not have them grounded correctly. I run cow-calf inside 1 or 2 strand hi-tensile fences from the day the calves are born to the day they are weaned and rarely ever have a calf on the other side of the fence. I use a Gallagher 2500 fencer and lots of copper ground rods. If I touch that fence it will make make the hairs on my head stand straight up and I'll feel it for an hour or so. I guess it does the same to the cows and calves. I can buy really good fencers for a fraction of the cost of installing a woven wire fence and the HT fences are much easier to maintain.
