| Apple does try to use quality components, but so do some PC machines. I don't think the difference is the hardware so much as software that's written FOR the Mac's specific hardware. That's why Apple is so protective of its closed OS. I run Office XP via Parallels on my Mac. It is a very frustrating experience for what I'm used to, but when I tell a PC user my frustrations, I get that "deer in the headlights" look. I guess it's just normal and I should get used to it when I'm on the XP side ?
Just for the record, Eric McCartman is telling it straight. He's been on the other side of the fence big time. He's just passing what should be useful information. I've never noticed his intent is meant to degrade, rather only to inform. I admire his courage to speak up in a PC world. The Mac is the best-kept secret out there, thanks to Apple's miserable ad campaign's of the past. But their new ads are finally on track.
For the record, not everyone wants nor can be happy with a Macintosh, knowing they could have purchased something for far less to get the job done. I understand that. But those of you that desire a VERY predictable, reliable and friendly computer experience I would recommend you take Eric's advice. | |
