OntarioCanuck - 11/21/2021 07:35 I agree I would assume anyone attending a riot with a gun is looking for trouble not peace. An assault rifle has only one purpose, to kill people quickly and easily, so I am unable to understand why anyone would even own one except the military or specialized police units.

It was interesting when all this was going a year ago some protestors made it known they were coming to the county seat in the county where I live. It is a small county less than 4000 population. On the appointed day the protestors showed up at the county seat which is a population of around 500. So did many residence of the county. Many packing AR15's, others hand guns, others rifles. Now this was not a riot and it did not turn into one either. The protestors said what they wanted to say and then left. Not a shot was fired but it was also clear that the residence were not going to put up with an BS either.

Makes one wonder what the outcome would have been if the residence of the town and county would have stayed at home that day behind locked doors. That is what the local law had requested.

I would venture to guess not one of the local people were looking for trouble but also were ready to face it if needed.

Sometimes all you need to do is walk softly and carry a big stick.
