I’ve thought about that a lot. Wandering if he knew what gun he would be carrying that night. They keep saying someone local gave it to him (never heard when). To your point I wander if whoever decided what gun he would carry would look more impressive and intimidating to the rioters.
On a person note a black friend of mine was being harassed during the time all that crap was going on. Some of us offered to come set on his porch a few nights. One of the guys in our group of friends though we should all carry shot guns. Never happened, the black friend didn’t want the extra attention he thought it would bring.
