A mix of diesel and used oil works good. Hot, cheaper, and burns longer. Propane torch makes a good starter. Back in the land clearing days we had a 500 gal LP tank with a torch on a trailer. Snake cooker! Little to no wind, saturate the center of the pile and light. Windy, saturate upwind and light to let it blow through
