My guy was a retired teacher. He wanted nothing nor would he take anything. He never did get anything from me. The gifting was a few hundred to each of his grown children. There was no real tie between the labor and the gift as he would have continued to help me if nobody got anything. Thus I thought it was appropriate to give the gifts out of appreciation for his good deed. His kids used the funds to fly to Florida for a week at Christmas time.
How would you "pay" a guy for truck driving this past harvest?
