Very southern Mn | We have a 9870 and a 780 that gets traded every year. The 9870 at 1500 hrs is having a few issues but nothing that stoped us for more than half a day since we bought it. Biggest issue in the 6 years we have had it was cleaning fan shaft broke this year during season. We also had a fairly large preseason bill 20000$ but dealer did everything that they recommended and we could have easily cut bill in half but don’t like to cut corners. The 780’s have been pretty trouble free ( as you would expect with new) as did the 680 we ran before 780’s into the 1200 hr sep range. I think Deere is built alittle heavier than CIH but grain sample sucks on the 780’s, good on 9870 and the 670’s we have had. We have Ziegler close so would like to try a yellow one but guys have had some issue with parts on some of the older ones as just not as many dealers to draw from. I was hoping x9 or x10 or whatever they are called would solve the sample problem but not from reports that we hear. So for me a interesting thread as we have considered trying a red one, but our dealer service has been excellent with the green ones and knock on wood have never had a time that we were without parts for more than 4 or 5 hrs. | |
