North East Kansas | This isn't on combines, but our Magnum 290 has a dreaded Case IH air filter and Case did really screw these up. In dry conditions we need to clean it everyday to every other day or it gets plugged. It is just a horrible design. We also have the older magnums with the older air filter style, and you almost forget about the air filters because they never need cleaned. I remember watching some of the farmers that are youtube stars, and it was funny when they said some good things about the Case IH but then would always comment about the constantly plugged air filters. They should definitely have changed the magnum air filter designs. Lots of pleating, but that does not make up for surface are. The filter surface area is downright pathetic. In saying that, we don't have many air filter problems on our 7150 combine, but its also a much better design with the old style high quantity of surface area. | |
