I’ve got 3 sets in the shed I’ll never use again. One of them probably would fit, but I have no idea how to tell what size they fit. I know one set was on an Oliver super 77, and one was on an Allis D17
I would measure the width of the tire and compare that to the width of the chains.
Let's say the tire width is 12 inches and the chain width is 18 inches so the chains hang over the sides 3 inches, in effect, reducing the diameter by 6 inches.
Circumference = Diameter times PI
(PI is 3.14)
If the height of the tire is 5.5 feet, subtract the 6 inches (for the chain hang over), diameter is 5 feet (or 60 inches)
60 (inches) times 3.14 = 188.4 divided by 12 = 15.7 feet |
