Subject: KISS--Keep It Simple, Stupid-I told myself one day.

Crawford County, Robinson, Illinois

I had leftover 10" pipeline given to me by the repair people working on a pipeline going across on of my fields.  It was 20' long.

I took the hayrack off one of my low rackwagons, put the 10" pipe on the standards to see what welding needed to be done to make a header trailer.

As I was looking at it, I realized I didn't need to do any welding, so I fired up the 1680 CIH with the 1020 bean head, unhooked the header, and found it went perfectly on the wagon with the 10" pipe to support the front under the cutterbar.

I also just wanted it for storage, would unload the head outside of a side shed on the barn, and backed the wagon into the shed with the head on it.   Worked perfectly for 15 years.

My idea wouldn't have worked with just any running gear, a higher wagon would have prevented removal, but the gear I had matched up perfectly.

If I can find a picture, I will post it later with an edit, don't remember now if I have a picture or not.
