Subject: My 643 corn head

sw corner ia.
I have a 643 too, way newer at 1980 model, though. I put Clarke Machine knife rolls, nose cones, and the poly snoots on it and plugging seems to have been eliminated. I have looked at the calmer slowdown of the chains, I really don't see how slowing them down will keep you running at 5 mph, maybe it will. All I know is these row units now pull about 1/4 the trash through the machine. that is a huge load off the chaffer. Might only be the case knive conversion. I can see no difference in the 90 series head, except they probably have all metric hardware.

the clarke poly snoots are great to work around. I like them having a complete metal frame to hold the plastic to.

Good luck..
