Aberdeen MS | Being a one man show here myself, my half mile fields have headlands at the quarter mile point. I can make a round in a quarter. The "back half" has one "road" coming to the front where the drive is after I open it up if I didn't take the front half first.
One field my approach was put in at the quarter mile mark. The truck only runs the middle headland in that case.
This year, the beans in the middle headland had significantly more growth than the "field" portion on both sides. I believe it was from the residue NOT being there allowing the bare ground to absorb more sun heat than the ground that was covered. It's the only thing different in the whole field. This field hasn't had any tillage besides a Dawn for 4 years. | |
