NW Ohio, near Findlay | THE PROBLEM SOLVED My nephew came over and we reinstalled the electric fuel shutoff. Talked to a few people and they told me to make sure pump in turning, tach drive runs off pump and tach needle is moving while cranking. Opened up bleeder valve again on pump, fuel is pumped out while cranking. Opened up a few injector lines, fuel coming out, but not cranking very fast. Noticed battery cables smoking on a connection. Didn't do anything but tighten up and truck cranked better. After cranking a short time is started and runs fine. Really feel dumb, not checking at battery. Still do not fully understand why it stopped on the road, unless it just wasn't getting enough amps at one moment and it shut down. Then while cranking to restart, it made enough arc to regain connect for fuel shut off to show power with test light.
First thing, go get new batteries and totally clean up all connections. The one battery may have a short in it and shut it down. l know I didn't check all connections, sure glad I found it. | |
