Central Texas | You may look and see if yours has this fitting on top of the engine. It's the sort of oval looking plate with the metal line running to it. Under the plate is a check valve, mine did the same thing if it sat for a while. I finally replaced that check valve and so far it's running good and hasn't died. The check valve would seize up after it ran a while and cut off the flow of fuel to the pump. This is on an 84 Chevy truck so I don't know if yours is the same, but it may be something to check.
