| your silver cigarette pack is a capacitor . the gear motor uses it to run. If the gear motor is running but not turning the cross tube you may have stripped gears. If it is the oldest style gear motor that is very common and you may have to update the motor because gears may not be available. that's not all bad the newer gear motors don't give as much trouble. If that is the problem you could also have a bad reversing switch. The button is probably a safety switch pushed down the gear motor won 't run popped out it will but if your machine has mercury bulbs for safeties the button could be a bypass for troubleshooting the mercury bulbs stop the gear motor if the down auger lags too far so it can catch up | |
