Subject: Montag Gen II hydraulics getting hot

Sibley County, MN
Was out doing some custom strip tilling today with my Montag Gen II unit when I got an alarm saying the fan pressure was to low. Not sure yet if there is an issue with the hydraulic pump on my Challenger MT665D, but I noticed that the lines were pretty warm, and the main aluminum hydraulic block on the Gen II was hot to the touch. So hot that I could not hold my bare hand on it for an extended period of time. I later grabbed my surface temperature probe and it registered 235 degrees F, with about a 70 degree outside air temp. I know it shouldn't be that hot. I have the 3/4" pressure line connected to SCV #5 on the tractor, the 3/4" return hose connected to the large return coupler, and the 1/2" case drain connected to the case drain coupler on the tractor. Do I need to use two SCV's tee'd together to run the Montag, I know I have heard that somewhere. The spec says 20GPM is required. Do I need an auxiliary oil cooler? What is causing all the heat? Could a failing hydraulic pump in my tractor cause extra heat? I did notice the pressure gauge on the Montag was fluctuating between 1000 and 1300 psi, and I can hear the fan motor speeding up and slowing down.
