Subject: Anyone else seeing grain quality issues?

We are noticing a great deal of fines in our corn samples. We run 2- 2388's, and they seem to be set about right. The corn is just not holding up. We cored the center out of a 48' bin, and the 1st load looked more like chicken feed than corn. The rest of the loads were only 3-5% FM, but the first load (under the bin spreader) was a mess.

Most of our handling is in conveyors and legs, so I'm not sure where all the damage is coming from.

We plan to core all of our bins. I don't think this is going to be a year to store grain for several months, even if it looks like the price might continue to appreciate. If bullish the market, it's probably better to own it on paper than hope it keeps in the bin.
