SW MN | AS stated I had a 1983 4890 for 12 years, and the only major work was the PS trans, right after I got it. about $8000. later it was updated to new. I did a valve job mainly because the leakage from head. a very good old tractor. but recently found out that Case no longer supplies some of the trans parts maybe none. local mechanic goes salavage yard hunting for parts. if you can fine an older steiger or case steiger,versitile, would be a better choice, off the shelf parts. They were never as big a Money Pit as Deere's 30,40,50 series 4X4 | |
