I don't know about parts markups, but I have a friend the worked for GoodYear Tire in the billing department. This guy said new car tires were invoiced out to auto manufacturers at 20-24 dollars a tire, the same tires were invoiced out to tire distributors at 28-34 dollars per tire. The distributor supplied the local tire dealer the tire and he sold it to the end user for 80-120 dollars per tire.
Why do dealer's parts have such a mark-up?
