Why do dealer's parts have such a mark-up?

what would you consider a fair markup? You want as a farmer to get as much out of your product as possible, why does everyone think a dealer is raping them when most are lucky to be making 15-20%, that has to cover his other expenses that alot of people don't think about. Would you be in a business where you are taking care of a customer needs for 10% over cost and out of that you have to pay the parts people that have to have knowledge of every part that is made to fit all machines because if they don't then the farmer is coming into the dealer ship complaining because the parts people don't know everything, electric bill, advertising, health care for employees so he has a chance at getting quality people to work for him. Just think about a few things before you spout off about how a dealer is getting rich.
