Martinton,il | Many years ago, I worked on snowplows and in the middle of the night a snowplow quit moving forward. Another snowplow come along and pulled him into the garage about 15 miles away. It was really cold out, below zero so they pulled plow next to the shop and left it running. When I got into work I had a garage full of little things to fix and didn't get to the truck outside running until just before lunch when we pushed it in the shop with the loader. After lunch I discovered that a cooling line for the Allison transmission had a hole worn in it and transmission was running outside for over 8 hours with no transmission oil in it. I fixed the hose and put in a bunch of Trans oil and away the truck went. This was a 653 Allison. They are a tough transmission.
